April 2008 DRAGONFLY
LARVAE
| We are privileged to offer
these excellent fossil dragonfly larvae specimens from an old
accumulation, and from an area now closed to collecting. These Libellula
doris specimens date to the upper Miocene and come from Vittoria d'alba,
Cuneo, Italy. Each is priced individually and carries a letter
designation for ordering purposes. The plates are quite thin and
fragile; therefore, each can be enclosed in a glass front case for an
additional $5.00, if requested. We
cannot replace these specimens so do not delay in ordering should you
want one. |

| The various plant fossils
shown immediately below were collected more than 15 years ago and are
part of an old accumulation we purchased. The material is from the
Winterset Limestone, Independence, Missouri, and is Pennsylvanian in age.
The contrast is not prominent, hence the difficulty in photographing the
pieces. In hand, the contrast is more distinct. All of these specimens
are fine examples of Coal Age plants from an area closed to collecting
for many years. Please order by letter designation to assure you receive
the example you want. These are reasonably priced and attractive
additions to any fossil collection. |
